Formed in 2023, our vision is to move the South Bay forward on housing, transit, and active mobility.
Mission Statement
South Bay Forward is a grassroots group of residents in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County. Our mission is to expand housing and transportation choices for a more inclusive, equitable, affordable, and sustainable community. Together we learn, identify solutions, educate, and mobilize for positive change.
Our Vision
We envision a South Bay where housing affordability doesn’t get in the way of what our region has to offer. We believe all South Bay residents deserve the opportunity to live here from childhood to aging in place, and believe in the continued flourishing of our diverse community.
We advocate for a South Bay with affordable and abundant housing, robust transit, and safe mobility infrastructure. In partnership with others, we promote efforts across the region to address housing affordability, improve transit, create safer streets, and build a more sustainable, connected, and healthy built environment.
Who We Are
We are a volunteer-driven chapter of Abundant Housing LA, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization.
South Bay Forward is composed of residents in the following LA County cities: Carson, El Segundo, Gardena, Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Inglewood, Lawndale, Lomita, Los Angeles (Harbor City, Harbor Gateway, San Pedro and Wilmington), Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, Torrance, and some unincorporated areas of the County of Los Angeles.
